We are calling for applications for a Business Partner Safety and Culture role from people who are passionate, collaborative, highly organised and prepared to embrace the culture at the City of Mitcham.
About the role
The Safety and Culture Business Partner role is an integral role within our organisation and is responsible for providing high level specialist advice and support to ensure the City of Mitcham maintains a high standard of workplace health and safety.
Working closely with the leadership group, the Safety and Culture Business Partner will focus on the ongoing development, maintenance and implementation of the Council’s WHS Strategic Plan and Management System. This role will be a driving force leading the Council’s health and safety program to exceed industry benchmarks.

To be successful in this role you will be highly self-motivated and have advanced communication skills with the ability to negotiate, motivate and influence others.
You will have experience in:
- Case managing and resolving complex and sensitive WHS issues.
- Conducting comprehensive internal and external audit programs to assess effectiveness of WHS systems.
- The development of policies; procedures and other related documentation.
- Report writing; statistical analysis and evaluation of strategic WHS initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience working in a self-insured environment is essential.
Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety or demonstrated equivalent experience, knowledge and skills is an essential criteria for this role.
